Dilated Pore of Winer is an extremely common skin lesion that I encounter on a daily basis in both my The Woodlands and Conroe dermatology offices. Essentially, a Dilated Pore of Winer is a distinctively larger pore on the face that may appear to be a "hole." Dilated Pore of Winer ranges in size from 1-2 mm. They are most commonly found on the face but can also be seen on the upper chest area. Treatment of Dilated Pore of Winer is not necessary as it is a benign skin lesion but some patients may elect removal due to cosmetic purposes. Typically, a small punch biopsy of 2mm can be utilized to remove the pore and the defect is closed with one small suture.
