Sarcoidosis - Erythrodermic Sarcoid

Erythrodermic Sarcoid is a rare manifestation of Sarcoidosis that I occasionally encounter in both my The Woodlands dermatology and Conroe dermatology offices.  Typically Erythrodermic Sarcoid begins as scaly red plaques scattered throughout the body.  As they become larger, they coalesce into a diffuse all encompassing rash that covers the entire body.  A handful of skin diseases can develop erythroderma including eczema, psoriasis, seborrhea, mycosis fungoides.  Once erythroderma has occurred, it is difficult to differentiate these entities without a skin biopsy.
