Fibrous Tissue Abnormalities – Acrochordon

April 26th, 2014

Acrochordons are one of the most common skin lesions that I encounter in both my The Woodlands dermatology and Conroe dermatology offices.  Acrochordons, also called skin tags, clinically appear as a flesh colored soft papule.  They are most often found on the eyelids, neck, axillae, underneath the breasts and groin.  Typically, Acrochordons are asymptomatic unless they become rubbed on clothing or twist on themselves resulting in a loss of blood supply and ultimately becoming black, painful and necrotic.  They can be treated with cryosurgery or scissor excision.Acrochordons
