Hair Follicle Neoplasms – Folliculosebaceous Cystic Hamartoma
Folliculosebaceous Cystic Hamartoma is a benign hair follicle neoplasm that I occasionally encounter in both my The Woodlands dermatology and Conroe dermatology offices. Clinically, they appear as a single lesion on the face and scalp and are flesh colored nodules under 1cm in size. The nose is the most common anatomical location to find a Folliculosebaceous Cystic Hamartoma. As they are benign, they do not require removal unless they become problematic. Removal of these lesions can be accomplished through a shave excision.
