Fat Tissue Abnormalities – Nevus Lipomatosus Superficialis
Nevus Lipomatous Superficialis is a benign fat tissue abnormality that I occasionally encounter in both my The Woodlands dermatology and Conroe dermatology offices. Clinically, Nevus Lipomatous Superficialis is a mobile soft yellow raised plaque. The most common anatomic locations where it is found are the thighs, buttocks, and rarely the head and neck region. They typically arise in children or teenagers. As they are benign, no treatment is needed.
