Granuloma Multiforme is a type of Granuloma Annulare almost exclusively found in Central Africa and I do not usually encounter it in my The Woodlands dermatology and Conroe dermatology offices. Granuloma Multiforme usually occurs in adults and is found on the chest, back and upper extremities. Histologically, it resembles Actinic Granuloma but clinically has a very raised border that is close to 5mm in some patients. Thus, the main clinical differential diagnosis is Tuberculoid Leprosy. Granuloma Multiforme lesions are usually pruritic and tend to be chronic.
