Fat Tissue Abnormalities – Angiolipomas
Angiolipomas are a very common subtype of lipomas that I encounter frequently in both my The Woodlands dermatology and Conroe dermatology offices. Clinically, Angiolipomas are soft mobile nodules with no change in the characteristics of the overlying skin; however, they are painful unlike typical lipomas. In many patients, the Angiolipomas are numerous and rarely exists as a solitary nodule. They contain many blood vessels and it is the dilation and contraction of these vessels can lead to pain. Treatment is surgical excision if desired.
